No-one likes making a claim but when the need arises, we want you to know that you’re in safe hands. 

If you need to make a claim, Deacon's award-winning claims team can agree the majority of property claims immediately on the phone (01202 449 611). This is because in most cases, we have delegated authority from the insurers to handle claims on behalf of our customers. If we have enough information at notification to validate the claim, we can agree settlement, there and then.

To help us pay your claim up to 50% faster than going direct to an insurer* we've produced a simple checklist of items that you can provide, so that we can progress your claim more efficiently: 

  • Date of loss
  • The cause of the damage
  • Details of the damage
  • Estimate/s (for full repair) and invoices (for emergency repairs only)
  • Photographs of the damage – both close up and perspective shots
  • Police reference numbers for Theft, Malicious Damage and Impact by Vehicle claims
  • Details of where to send the payment – this need to provided by an authorised person 
  • Recovery information from any third-party that may be responsible for the damage 

If you don't know who to use or you need help finding reliable trades people, we can often put you in touch with the approved contractor networks provided by the majority of our insurers. We always strive to ensure that making a claim is as straightforward and stress-free as possible and we always encourage our team to handle claims promptly and fairly and keep you informed of progress regularly
